Meetiing in St. Louis

Thursday night's encounter between the vice-presidential candidates should have thrilled the Democrats.

Senator Biden's delivery was crisp, direct and knowledgeable. He is clearly the most impressive candidate in the debates and his performance was easily the best so far.

After revealing her abysmal ignorance and total lack of qualifications in interviews with TV anchors Charles Gibson of ABC and Katie Couric of CBS, Governor Palin improved to the point that she was able to regurgitate the lines her RNC handlers had drilled into her, for the most part. When unable to, she merely changed the subject. Thus, she evaded or avoided any substantive answers. [How could she do otherwise?] But she kept her smile tightly pasted on most of the evening.

Where do the Republicans get these people?
